Veggie's Delight Co is an ALL VEGETARIAN specialty food store, offering a variety of fresh, hand-made Taiwanese baked goods and tasty meals, ready to eat or take home to reheat.
Owner and Chef May and husband Steve has been in the vegetarian foods business for more than 15 years, serving vegans, vegetarians, Buddhist temples and Dao organizations. Over the last decade, May and Steve have reinvented countless recipes, tailored to the vegan/vegetarian diet or the health-conscious, including egg-less sponge cake and steamed multi-grain energy bun. Veggie's Delight also offers daily lunch boxes, noodles and soups, served hot during 11am-2:30pm. Customers pick up steamed "bao" (that's Chinese for steamed buns) with cabbage, mustard green, seasoned bamboo shoot or sweet fillings such as red-bean or lotus root.
During holiday seasons, such as the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival and Chinese New Year, Veggie's Delight adds the special festive foods to the menu.
The humble little store also offers a wide variety of vegetarian "meat". Vege ham, hot dogs, hamburger patties, chicken nuggets and drumlets, even smoked duck, fish and shrimp! Bring them home to cook up your fancy or ask May to cater your party. She has been on the rollerdeck of Buddhist temples for years, serving entrees, snacks and desserts at various gatherings.
